The Perth Mint has launched an extraordinary addition to its Masterpieces Series: the 'Jewelled Turtle', an exquisite limited-edition collector coin featuring Australian sea life, dazzling gemstones, and rare pink diamonds. Crafted from 10 ounces of 99.99% pure gold, each of the eight unique coins is set with 113 Argyle pink diamonds, along with white diamonds and emerald accents, making it a truly luxurious creation.

Valued at $269,000, the Jewelled Turtle coin showcases a beautifully detailed sea turtle, surrounded by coral and dory fish, with 52 white diamonds embellishing its head and limbs, and emeralds for its eyes. This opulent design pays tribute to the rich marine biodiversity of Australia’s Kimberley region, home to six of the world’s seven sea turtle species.

Neil Vance, general manager of minted products at the Perth Mint, expressed confidence that the coin will be highly sought after by collectors. "Perth Mint's dedication to craftsmanship and innovation continues to resonate with numismatic enthusiasts worldwide," Vance said. "This release, like others in our 125-year history, reflects our unwavering commitment to quality and exclusivity."

Designed by Perth Mint artist Natasha Muhl, the Jewelled Turtle coin is a testament to the Mint's artistic vision. "The intricacy of the design, with hundreds of diamonds and gemstones, honours the beauty of the sea turtle, a sacred creature in many cultures," Muhl added.

This release marks the seventh instalment in the Masterpieces Series, following previous successes such as the Jewelled Snake and Jewelled Koi. Notably, the Dan Thorne effigy of King Charles III appears for the first time on this collector’s piece, making it a true collector's treasure for 2024.

With only eight coins in circulation, the Jewelled Turtle is expected to be an instant hit among global collectors, celebrating Australia's stunning wildlife and world-class craftsmanship.
