The London Diamond Bourse (LDB) has promoted Victoria McKay to become its first Chief Operating Officer. Victoria joined LDB in October 2013 as Operations Manager. She will take up her new role with immediate effect. McKay has almost 21 years multifaceted experience. Ultimately, she became an Operations Manager within a successful professional services organisation before joining the Bourse in October 2013.

The Chief Operating Officer role is new to the LDB, and its creation reflects the recent increase in the Bourse front-line functions. The role works directly with the Board and will take responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day management of the trading floor, including Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Property, IT and Security.

Victoria McKay expressed her joy by saying, "Anyone who knows me understands that I have a real love for the LDB. The members of the London Diamond Bourse have made the last year an absolute pleasure. I am delighted to take up the role of COO and I will continue to work closely with the Council of Management, as we strive to release the full potential of the Bourse."

President Harry Levy said, "The appointment of a Chief Operating Officer is essential to the day-to-day management of the LDB to further the strategic and commercial aims of the organisation. I am delighted that Victoria has accepted the invitation to become the LDB’s first Chief Operating Officer. As well as the skill set for the role, Victoria is highly thought of at the LDB and has shown great interest in driving the Bourse forward."
