Jewelers of America (JA) is currently accepting entries through February 8, for its CASE Awards, its annual retailer design competition. The competition is open to the staff of JA retail member companies. JA notes that its CASE Awards honours ‘the unique craftsmanship that can only be found at independent jewelry retailers’ and is an opportunity for ‘JA Member stores to highlight their staff's talent’. The competition is slated to be held at the JA New York Winter Show, February 24 to 26, 2013.

The competition invites entries in eight categories - platinum jewelry (sponsored by Platinum Guild International, USA), palladium jewelry (sponsored by Palladium Alliance International), women's jewelry in three categories across various price points, men's jewelry, silver jewelry and alternative-metals categories.

The entries are showcased at the JA New York Winter Show. Winners receive trophies and national media exposure and this year, winning piece of each category will be exhibited at Jewelry Information Center's annual Fine Jewelry Preview.

The process of the entries allows employees of JA member stores to enter pieces as "At Large Entries" until February 8, while the accepted jewelry to reach JA headquarters by February 21. There is an automatic entry for first-place winners from state and regional jewelry associations that are partners of JA.
