JCK Las Vegas accorded as ‘India Show’ by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry

The Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry has decided to declare the Indian participation at JCK Las Vegas 2012 as an INDIA SHOW, which will focus on promoting BRNAD India - its gem and jewellery industry and culture. The India Show will be visited by officials from the ministry of Commerce and Industry and Ms. Sonam Kapoor – the international brand ambassador of the GJEPC and noted Indian Bollywood Diva and fashionista.

Chairman GJEPC, Mr. Rajiv Jain, said, “It is indeed an honour to have JCK Las Vegas be accorded as the ‘India Show’ by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. This show is an opportunity to further accentuate India’s growing recognition in the international arena as THE global destination for gems and jewellery”.

Mr Jain further explained that the various segments planned in the India Show including –jewellery showcase at the ‘India Gallery’, cultural acts by ICCR, Indian Cuisines, and promotions by Ministry of Tourism and GJEPC, are all ‘an effort to build an aura of INDIA and establish Identity for the BRAND INDIA, as it is the most sought after destination today’.

Key features and highlights expected at the JCK Vegas 2012 show include:

A grand inauguration by India Gem & Jewellery Industry Chairman Mr. Rajiv Jain along with Ministry officials, Ms. Sonam Kapoor.

A daily 30 minute fashion show of Indian jewellery designs by models.

Indian Cuisine: to be presented by chefs from TAJ, Mumbai.

India Evening: to be hosted on June 1, 2012, at Mandalay Bay, including various cultural acts by world renowned Kathak dance artiste, Pandit Chitresh Das, and by ICCR followed by a Jewellery fashion show. Ms. Sonam Kapoor will be the showstopper at the event.

Every Day Cultural Act: brining glimpses of Incredible India through Cultural performances from Gujarat State.

The India Gallery at the ‘Shark Reef’ will display jewellery pieces that are handpicked by the GJEPC from the finest and leading manufacturers and retailers of designer jewellery in India. The showcase will be in the categories of mass produced, couture, designer and further that of gold and silver. The India Gallery will promote India’s position as ‘Global Jewellery Hub’.The India Pavilion located at Bayside Level of Mandalay Bay will feature a variety of regionally inspired and product specific pavilions. It will cover a wide array of fine jewellery rafted in different metals, diamonds and gemstones, estate jewellery, bridal jewellery. Watches and more.

The JCK Las Vegas Show is slated between 1 – 4 June 2012 at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Conventional Centre, Las Vegas.
