Indian Jeweller magazine, popularly known as IJ, is almost a year old and is fast becoming the face of the Indian jewellery industry. To kick start its second year, IJ brings to you the “ MJGF IJ Jewellers’ Choice Design Awards 2011”, a one-of-its kind Design Awards, for which manufacturers across the country will submit designs under various categories and price points. The difference is that the winners will not be chosen by a panel of judges but by thousands of retailers from all across the country – truly making these Awards a Jeweller’s Choice awards.
The contest will be spread over a course of six months commencing this August 2011. The period for submission of entries by manufacturers is from August 1 to September 30. The voting will be conducted through a website especially created for the IJ Design Awards. It will ensure transparent and fair judging of entries, and ensure great mileage for the winning manufacturers. Voting will be supported by several methods including computers, iPads, smart phones and voting forms.
From October 15 onwards, the jewellery images will be displayed on the website and voting will commence from November 15. The top three designs in each category will be the ones that acquire the maximum number of votes. These three designs will be deemed finalists for that category and the design to get the maximum number of votes will be the winner. The entry that receives the most votes as the retailers’ overall favorite will be the recipient of the prestigious Grand Prize Award.
The results will be announced on December 1, 2011. All category award winners and finalists will be featured in IJ’s “Best of the Best” Jewellers’ Choice Award supplement, which will mail with the January or February issue of IJ. All category award-winning pieces will be featured in the Dec-Jan 2012 issue of IJ. The Grand Prize Award winning piece shall feature on the cover of the issue. Winners will be announced in a glittering award ceremony to be held during UBM’s Mumbai Jewellery & Gem Show on 9th Dec, 2011.
With the ‘IJ Jewellers’ Choice Design Awards 2011’, IJ brings forth a wonderful opportunity for manufacturers and designers of India, to showcase their talent, creativity and products through a unique platform, which is accessible from any part of the country and created especially for them.
