The annual international jewellery trade exhibition - Jovella Jewelry Exhibition, held in Tel Aviv, is expected to attract hundreds of buyers from abroad to its seventh edition, this year. The Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI), the Israel Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute and the Israel Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association, are sponsoring the exhibition, slated between July 6 – 7, 2010 at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds.
Jovella 2010 is likely to host 150 exhibitors from Israel and abroad, exhibiting gold jewellery, gold jewellery set with diamonds or precious stones, silver jewellery, fashion jewellery, Kabbalah jewellery, Judaica and watches. There will also be a section devoted to services and technologies pertaining to the jewellery industry. A special section of young Israeli jewellery designers is planned, wherein the designers will showcase gold, silver and diamond jewellery creations. The designers will be selected on the basis of originality of their work and design quality.
Last year, Jovella 2009 featured about 11,000 jewellery professionals and buyers and around 150 companies participating and about 200 buyers and visitors from abroad. Israel’s jewellery exports in 2009 amounted to $300 million, with most of this being sold to the United States. Israel’s jewellery is exported to Russia, the UK, Hong Kong, Canada, Belgium, Italy, Spain, France, Japan and other locations.
