MJSA honours winners of the Vision and Thinking Ahead Awards

Winners of Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America’s (MJSA) annual Vision and Thinking Ahead Awards, were recently announced and honoured at the MJSA Expo New York held between March 14-16, 2010. The awards were initiated to recognise and celebrate excellence in jewellery design and product development. For this year, the MJSA had introduced a new entry category –‘Visionary Use of Materials’ that recognizes outstanding technical achievement, and a ‘Future of the Industry’ category honoring the designs of students in jewellery programmes.

Winners of the MJSA Vision Awards in respective categories:

Design Excellence:

Jennifer Jordan Park won the first place for "Splash," a cloisonné enamel box ring. James .W. Currens won second place for ‘The Kailash Ruby Ring.’

Visionary Technical Solution

Christopher Duquet won first place, for a yellow sapphire and diamond ring. James .W. Currens won second place for ‘Star Dreamer Pendant’.

Gold Distinction

Pamela Froman won first place for the ‘Royal Crush’ necklace. Dennis Dejonghe won second place for a 22k yellow gold repoussé brooch.

Laser Distinction

Davina Rae Romansky received the first prize for her "Cascading Necklace" in sterling silver. The second place win was a tie between Young-Eun Han for a necklace made of lightweight silver wire and Hyangmi Kim for ‘A Waterfall in the Moonlight’ Necklace.

Winners of the MJSA Thinking Ahead Awards include
