New offices of the Diamond Manufacturers and Importers Association of America (DMIA) have been opened at 580 Fifth Avenue, New York City. Speaking on the occasion President Ronald J. Friedman expressed his appreciation to the owners and management of 580 Fifth Avenue for their ongoing commitment and support to the DMIA and to the diamond industry at large.

Friedman was recently re-elected as President of the DMIA, while Ronnie Vanderlinden was elected as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Fred Knobloch, Sheldon Kwiat, Rick Cohen and Jay Greenberg were elected as Vice Presidents and Matthew Schamroth was elected as Secretary. Elected to positions on the DMIA�s Board of Directors were Joseph Dresdner, Marvin Finker, Saul Goldberg, Manny Gross, Hertz Hasenfeld, Tom Heyman, Mickey Ishida, Daniel Kaleko, Philip Klein, Daniel Klugman, Isidore Kratka, Michelle Lieber, Ben Moller, Ronnie Morgenstein, Alan Rehs, Stuart Samuels, Dalia Schwalb and Steven Verstandig.

The Association�s former Presidents include Leon Cohen, Jeffrey Fischer, Alan Kleinberg, Jacques Roisen, and Paul Bialo. Friedman says that during the past two years the DMIA has enjoyed a significant growth in membership, and is acknowledged as the leading organization of America�s premier diamond manufacturers, importers and dealers playing a prominent leadership role on every significant issue affecting the American diamond industry. DMIA membership also includes companies servicing the diamond trade such as banks, shippers, insurers, and grading laboratories.
