IDI launches second phase of YouTube videos

The videos promote Israeli diamond companies

The second round of The Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies’ (IDI) YouTube videos was recently launched. The IDI has created the YouTube videos as a promotional platform for the Israeli Diamond Industry. The first round of videos was launched at a press conference in Las Vegas in May, where IDI revealed the 4th Stage in the “Together Works” strategic program, based on a social media marketing campaign, which in addition to YouTube relies on Facebook, Twitter and blogs.

The second round of the videos contains 24 new videos, in addition to the 40 videos which were added in the first round. Each video presents a different diamond company personally introduced by the owner or principal, enabling buyers to learn about many new suppliers in a very direct and personal way. IDI produced these image films for YouTube as a service for Israeli diamond companies while introducing them to the field of social network marketing. This complex project was filmed and edited by a leading film production agency in Israel.

Moti Ganz, President of the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (IsDMA) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association, said “The Israeli Diamond Industry recognised early on that we need to be proactive in promoting our product. Although the diamond industry has been seen to be a traditional industry, through ‘Together Works’ we are using all available channels, including the most advanced among them.”

The Israeli Diamond Industry YouTube channel is the first ever diamond center channel on YouTube, focused on changing the way the diamond industry is presented through the internet and is accessible at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=israelidiamond. IDI says that the Israeli Diamond Industry YouTube channel has exceeded expectations and that is the reason that an additional round was created. Since the videos were first uploaded on May 31, IDI reports over 15,000 visits. IDI is promoting the videos through banners on the Israel Diamond Industry portal and major diamond and jewellery websites.

IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar said that ‘Together Works’ is an example of how an ‘out of the box’ multipronged approach can be used successfully to promote a diamond center. YouTube is only one avenue for our efforts. Through our blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and other channels, we are working to create an online community where the industry worldwide can come together and share ideas,” he said.
