Three Indian firms added to the list of WJC office holders

Three Indian diamond and diamond jewellery manufacturing companies Dharmanandan Diamonds, Shefi Diamonds, and Vishal Diamonds, have joined a flock of many such Indian firms who have reserved office space at the upcoming trading tower in Los Angeles namely the World Jewelry Center (WJC). Almost 147 diamond companies from across the globe, will be setting up their offices at WJC, amongst which 15 percent or 26 are Indian companies or have Indian ties.

Seven of the Indian firms are DTC sightholders or affiliated firms. Yogesh K. Madhvani, Chairman and CEO of SimplexDiam, Inc., one of the earliest to reserve space in the tower said, “The World Jewelry Center offers a great opportunity for Indian companies to participate in a major new jewellery marketplace, and there are many unique benefits to it, including a designated Foreign Trade Zone. The Foreign Trade Zone will be very important, since imported goods are a mainstay for most Indian companies.”

Amongst the 26 Indian companies, names of DTC Sightholders or affiliated companies include C Mahendra, NY, LLC, Dharmanandan Diamonds Pvt. Ltd., Gold Star Jewellery Pvt., Ltd., Kiran Exports, Laxmi Diamond, MaxMark, Inc., Shrenuj & Company Ltd. The remaining companies to be seen are Apollo Star, Dhamani Jewels, Diacentre, Inc., Diaco, Dipti Publications, Gems of India, Manak Jewels, Manek Gem Art International, Pioneer Gems/Designs by Ashok Sancheti, Prompt Gem Importers, Inc., Rajwarah Jewellers Pvt. Ltd., Shefi Diamonds Inc., Simplex Diam, Inc., Star Rays, NY Inc., Supergems Jewellery, Suvarnaratnam, Tara & Sons, Inc., Vimco Diamond Corp., and Vishal Diamonds.

World Jewelry Center Global Manager of Sales and Marketing, Jerry Buckley, said “As leaders in the international gem and jewelry industry, Indian companies clearly recognize the value of the World Jewelry Center to help them increase business in North and South America and the Pacific Rim countries.”

The WJC is expected to be operational by end of 2011.
