The De Beers Group has appointed industry veteran Ivette Nersesyan-Stephanopoulos as the company’s vice president of Code of Origin and Trade Services for North America. In her new role, Ivette will be responsible for promoting and growing De Beers Code of Origin trustmark program along with De Beers’ trade services including De Beers Institute of Diamonds grading, training courses and synthetic detection equipment to the industry in North America.

“Ivette’s extensive market knowledge and insight will be valuable to the company as we look to scale the Code Of Origin program from our initial phase to a driving force in the market helping to uplift the value of all the diamonds that the De Beers Group mines from Botswana, Canada, Namibia and South Africa and provide consumer assurance of provenance. In doing so, we continue our Building Forever mission to create a positive, lasting impact, from education and jobs to healthcare and wildlife conservation, to the lives of the people and the places where De Beers diamonds are found,” said Charles Stanley, president, De Beers Brands North America.

Prior to her new tenure at DeBeers, Ivette Nersesyan-Stephanopoulos was the Sr. Director of Global Business Development at GIA and the Director of Wedding and High Jewelry at David Yurman. Ivette serves on the board of the Metro Chapter of WJA and is an Advisory Board Member of the Client Experience Program at Ithaca College.
