Global authority on jewelry trends the Le Vian jewellery house is staging its annual catwalk fundraiser in Las Vegas on Aug 29 and as always, philanthropy will be centre stage. This year, Le Vian has set a goal to raise $1 million for its chosen charities – Jewelers for Children, St Jude’s Hospital and Le Vian’s Rafa Foundation. Le Vian isto have already secured $300k in donations, via the Le Vian family coupled with an anonymous matcher.

 

Annually attended by retailers and the brand’s VIP customers, this is the a sought after event highlight of JCK Las Vegas, laying out global jewelry trends for the year ahead. In 2019, the last time the show was live, one WAITER, a single dad at the event was so moved by Le Vian’s fundraising, that he made an impromptu request for the microphone and pledged $200 on the spot, which sparked an immediate standing ovation from the entire room of 500 attendees. This then also inspired a billionaire in the room to up his own donation by a handsome 6 figure sum. This incredible moment was captured on a 1 minute film and featured in this Daily Mail article, shared over 300 times.

Le Vian’s commitment to giving back is evidenced by the company’s board mandate to give away 10% annually, and in 2018, Le Vian gave away 20% of pre-tax profits. In comparison, most Fortune 500 companies give away between 1% and 3% of profit to charity each year, according to Vogue Business.

Le Vian’s dedication to medical charities is evidenced through the development of the Rafa Foundation, run in loving memory of their nephew Rafael who founded the organisation before he lost his long battle to cancer.

As part of Le Vian’s international and local commitments to education and community building, Le Vian have developed medical scholarships for students in their local New York community. Tens of medical students have already graduated from Le Vian funded programs.

Le Vian supports diamond-producing areas by building schools and community centres and donates annually to Diamonds Do Good’s Diamond Empowerment Fund. Among these Diamonds Do Good initiatives, in 2021, Le Vian is thrilled to have begun funding the medical studies of a student in a diamond producing community.

During the pandemic, Le Vian’s philanthropy outreach included delivering meals to frontline medical staff, helping those in need accelerate their access to government assistance to pay their rent, and helping individuals pay for medical treatments.
