GJEPC Hosts Open House to Address Customs Issues in Jaipur

Customs duty related issues and the problems faced by the various industries were discussed at length during an Open House hosted by the GJEPC at Hotel Lalit in Jaipur.

The Open House was chaired by P. K. Das, Member – Customs & Special Secretary, CBIC. Also, present were Sanjay Bansal, Additional Director General of Export Promotion from Ministry of Finance, Subhash Chandra Agrawal, Customs Commissioner, Jaipur, Manjoor Ali Ansari, Additional Commissioner, Customs Duty, Pramod Kumar Agrawal, Chairman, GJEPC, Nirmal Bardiya, Regional Director, Jaipur.

During his opening address, Pramod Kumar Agrawal, Chairman, GJEPC urged the exporters to enrol for AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) so that they can get the benefits of the program. He further said that the certification will help boost the exports of the country.

AEO programme enables speedier clearance of import and export shipments through the Green Channel. Trade members present in the workshop were informed about the benefits to exporters and importers of enrolling in this programme. AEO certificates were also given away to the exporters during the Open House.

The exporters present at the Open House presented their issues and concerns relating to the Customs duty and the officers present assured that the issues would be looked into.
