JAS Announces 1st Round of Results of All India Jewellery Design Competition

Results of the first round of All India Jewellery Design Competitions have been announced by Jewellers’ Association. The competition is part of 12th edition of world famous ‘JAS 18’ to be organised by the Jewellers’ Association at JECC campus from 31st August 31 to 3rd September.

Sanjay Kala, President of the Jewellers’ Association and Secretary D P Khandelwal said that the competition had four categories. Three i.e. professionals/artisans, students and open categories had received more than 200 entries while entries are still being accepted in the jewellers’ category.

Out of 200 designs in the first three categories 10 candidates each have been selected for the first round while the ready jewellery made out of selected design will be accepted till 17th August for the final selection, thereafter the winners of all four categories would be announced.

Convenor of the JAS show, Ramsharan Gupta said that the competition has been sponsored by GIA India. He said that a four judges’ panel comprising renowned jeweller Kishan Ghatiwala, Shubhang Mittal, Arch Academy’s director Archana Surana and chairperson of FICCI FLO Nitisha Chordia selected design for the first round. During the selection process, executives of jewellery association and JAS were also present.

Co-convenor Ashok Maheshwari and Manoj Dhandhia informed that apart from Jaipur, entries have been received from Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Indore, Kolkata, Faridabad, Pune and Bengaluru.
