The inaugural event was addressed by Mr. Shreyans Dholakia, Director, SRK Export. It started with a short clipping of SRK’s legacy that spanned across five decades. “Our elders have done commendable work. What have we done? We started discussing, what we should do next. So we realized, this curiosity is our USP for growth,” he said. He explained that “What Next” has been the Motto of the company, which has led them to grow leaps and bounds.
A short clipping that traced back the company’s milestones and its achievements was played, which said at the end that the company dreams to reveal a new brand identity, which can match global trends for years. “Today we want to bring the transformation to our visual identity as well.” On saying that, he called his father, the founder of SRK Export Mr. Govind Dholakia to the dais.
“When I started my journey in 1964, I had nothing with me. Diamond is god for me. It has helped me grow in my life, from being a cutter to what I am today,” said Mr. Govind Dholakia. He unveiled the new and transformed website of SRK, a first of its kind. With 7.01% total sales in the launch year to 79.98% sales this year, a promising website such as this needed a revamp and hence the idea of a fresh look and feel was born. The inauguration of the website and logo ended with a panel discussion by eminent personalities from the industry on “What’s Next for the Diamond Industry?” The session included Paul Rowley, Executive VP, De Beers, Tom Moses, Executive VP and Chief Laboratory and Research Officer, GIA, Eric Jens, CEO ABN Amro Bank and it was moderated by Rob Bates, News Director, JCK.
