International Diamond Week begins at IDE

Over 300 Israeli diamond exhibitors have reportedly signed for IDE.

The winter edition of International Diamond Week began at IDE on February 8, 2015.

Over 300 Israeli exhibitors have reportedly registered for IDE this year. The opening ceremony was conducted at the Trading Hall. Opening speech was given by IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer who praised his counterparts: Diamond Dealers Club of New York President Reuven Kaufman and Antwerp Diamond Bourse President Marcel Pruwer for taking part in the show.

This apart, US Ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, spoke of the importance of relations between Israel and America and the billions of dollars of exports to the United States of polished goods from Israel.

World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) President Ernie Blom spoke of the importance of the International Diamond Week and other such events held at the DDC and the Antwerp Diamond Week for creating business between bourse members.

Today i.e. on February 10, 2015, a special Diam-Tech exhibition will be staged showcasing local diamond technology and software firms. The event will be attended by President of Holon Institute of Technology, Prof. Eduard Yakubov, Sarine Technologies CEO, Uzi Levami, and Shmuel Schnitzer.

On Wednesday, Leibish Polnauer, of Leibish & Co, will give a presentation ‘The World of Fancy Color Diamonds’ in the Cullinan restaurant in the diamond exchange.
