Five British celebrities, Florence Welch, Daisy Lowe, Pixie Geldof, Alice Dellal and Andrea Dellal, modelled 448 carats of ethical Gemfields Zambian emeralds at the ‘Emeralds for Elephants’ Exhibition at Selfridge’s Concept store in London to raise funds for the World Land Trust, an organization working to create and protect wildlife corridors in India in order to save the endangered Asian elephant.

The display took place alongside the ‘Emerald Queen’ elephant, which features a staggering 678 carat Gemfields Zambian emerald expected to raise an additional £100,000 for the protection of wild Asian elephant habitat in India.

The ‘Emerald Queen’ created by Sabine Roemer is one of nine unique Zambian emerald jewellery pieces, inspired by India. The other eight were created by leading jewellers Dominic Jones, Theo Fennell, Shaun Leane, Sevan Bicakci, Francis Mertens, James Currens, Autore by Alessio Boschi and Gem Palace.

These will be auctioned by June end and are expected to raise in excess of £700,000.
