In the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of Bahrain, at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, the five-day jewellery and watch fair kick started as a veritable treasure trove of classic and contemporary designs, finished jewellery, timepieces, precious gems, clocks, fine writing instruments, luxury accessories and more from around the world. Spanning 21,000 square metres of exhibition space, the show was open for consumers as well as the trade, free of charge.
Leading brands such as Bulgari, Bucheron, Chopard, Graff, Bahrain Jewellery Centre, Roberto Coin, Al Hashimi Pearls, Devji, Asia Jewellers and many others participated in the show. Over the years, Jewellery Arabia has become extremely important for these brands of international repute to capture the Middle Eastern market, known for its discerning audience that has a flair for luxury.
The show also included many national pavilions including Hong Kong delegation that had 40 exhibitors and India pavilion with over 60 exhibitors. The GJEPC has been participating in Jewellery Arabia for the 17th consecutive year. The newest addition this year was the Moroccan pavilion along with fine jewellery retailers, designers and manufacturers from Japan, Singapore, Russia and Taiwan.
This year’s edition also saw the launch of its first ever mobile app. Easy to use, Jewellery Arabia attendees were able to search for brands and jewellery products they are interested in, along with an attractive 3D map feature helping to navigate the event easily.
Learning was also a part of the experience at Jewellery Arabia. Attendees were able to partake in the discovery of gold through an onsite museum at the Arihant Jewellers’ stand. Additionally, the museum featured gold ATM kiosks where the precious metal prices could be viewed in real time as well as large gold and silver bars worth US$1 million.
Bahraini style influencer and founder of the overdressed.com Dana Al Khalifa returned to Jewellery Arabia 2019 with a curated pavilion of international and local jewellers, who focus on producing beautiful modern designs using precious and semiprecious stones.
Visitors found a selection of contemporary jewellery by regional and international designers. The stylish curation aimed to fill the gap for young women who were looking to build their jewellery collections with timeless pieces that are both stunning and affordable. The Overdressed pavilion hosted brands such as Ana-Katarina, Arte Oro, Bhansali, Ena Iro, Istanboulli Gioielli Milano, Muneera Al Sharhan, Nadine Aysoy, NeverNot, Nina Runsdorf, Nuun Jewels and Savolina.
