Yehuda Sherlock Holmes 4.0 Achieves 100% Detection in ASSURE 2.0 Testing

diamond world news service

The Yehuda Sherlock Holmes 4.0 diamond detector has passed the Natural Diamond Council's ASSURE 2.0 Program with a flawless 100% detection rate across all four test sample categories: "Primary loose sample," "Smalls loose sample," "Primary mounted sample," and "Smalls mounted sample." This testing, designed to challenge verification instruments using complex samples, included synthetic diamonds not yet available commercially.

Tested by a novice operator, the Sherlock Holmes 4.0 detected all lab-grown diamonds and registered an average false positive rate of only 2.5%—meaning it mistakenly identified natural diamonds as lab-grown. Among the devices tested, only one other achieved a 100% detection rate, but at three times the cost.

Dror Yehuda, president of Yehuda Diamond Company, expressed confidence in their technology, emphasizing the company's commitment to protecting the jewellery industry from costly mistakes. The Yehuda Sherlock Holmes 4.0, along with other Yehuda devices, uses an app-based system that allows for continuous software updates, ensuring protection against newly developed synthetic diamonds.

Yehuda is offering a $2,000 trade-in allowance for older diamond detectors when purchasing the new Sherlock Holmes 4.0, reinforcing its goal of safeguarding the industry.
