Lucapa Achieves $12.4 Million with Sale of Six High-Value Diamonds

Lucapa Diamond Company has announced a successful sale of six diamonds from its Lulo alluvial mine in Angola, bringing in $12.4 million during its latest tender

The diamonds, which collectively weighed 447 carats, included a standout 14-carat pink diamond along with five white Type IIa diamonds of varying sizes: 195 carats, 89 carats, 68 carats, 51 carats, and 28 carats. The average price per carat was $27,700, with the pink diamond fetching the highest price per carat.

This tender, conducted by Sodiam E.P., Angola's state-owned diamond trading company, showcased the continued value and demand for diamonds from the Lulo mine. Lucapa, in collaboration with its partners—Australian mining firm Lucapa Diamond Company Ltd., Angolan company Rosas & Petalas, and state-owned Endiama E.P.—expressed satisfaction with the results.

Lucapa CEO and Managing Director Nick Selby praised the outcome, noting that the alluvial project consistently produces exceptional diamonds that perform well across various market conditions.
