Lucapa Diamond Company has announced the appointment of industry veteran Stuart Brown as the new Chairman of the Board. With an extensive background in diamond mining, Brown brings invaluable experience from his tenure at De Beers, where he served for 20 years in various capacities including interim CEO and CFO. He also led Firestone Diamonds from 2013 to 2018 and served as CEO of Mountain Province for three years.

During his leadership at Firestone Diamonds, Brown successfully raised $225 million for the development of the Liqhobong mine in Lesotho, showcasing his adeptness in financial management within the mining sector. Currently, Brown holds directorial positions at Ukrainian iron-ore miner Ferrexpo and Digby Wells Environmental Holdings, a firm specializing in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) consulting for the mining industry.

Joining Brown on the board is Ronnie Beevor, whose background spans investment banking and mining. Formerly the head of Rothschild Australia, Beevor brings a wealth of expertise to Lucapa's board. He currently serves as a director of Canadian iron-ore miner Champion Iron and Canadian explorer Mount Royal Resources. Beevor also holds the position of chairman at gold explorer Felix Gold and has recently retired as chairman of Bannerman Energy.
