diamond news network

Named "L'Heure Bleu," this extraordinary tanzanite sculpture weighs an impressive 703.4 carats and was meticulously crafted by New York-based artist Naomi Sarna. Mounted on a sterling silver base with an elegant twist, L'Heure Bleu stands as a testament to both artistic skill and the rarity of this gemstone.

Proceeds from the sale of this remarkable carving will support the Casey Eye Institute's efforts to provide essential eye care services to the Maasai community in Tanzania.

Tanzanite, renowned for its mesmerizing hues of green, red, purple, and blue, is one of the newest and rarest gemstones, surpassing even diamonds in scarcity. Introduced to the world by Tiffany & Co in 1968 under the name Tanzanite (scientifically known as blue-violet zoisite), this gem originates solely from a small region near the Mererani Hills, nestled in the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro, making it a true marvel of nature.
