Diamonds Do Good (DDG), the nonprofit dedicated to supporting positive change in diamond mining and manufacturing communities, has announced it will distribute more than $250,000 in grants in 2025. The funds will bolster youth empowerment, education, and economic growth initiatives, including a new program for the children of migrant workers in India’s diamond industry.

Building on a record-breaking year in 2024, when DDG awarded over $365,000 in grants, the organization plans to support both its long-term partners and new programs. In 2025, DDG will introduce the Diamonds Do Good Urban Transition Centers (UTC), a collaboration with the American India Foundation (AIF). This new initiative is designed to assist the children of migrant workers in India’s diamond-cutting industry, providing educational, linguistic, and cultural resources to aid their adjustment between rural and urban schooling.

“The Transition Centers represent a commitment to holistic development for these children, ensuring they are not left behind due to migration challenges,” stated Pritesh Patel, a DDG board and beneficiary committee member and Chief Operating Officer at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

DDG will also continue its popular Entrepreneurship Grants, launched in 2021, which support small business owners in diamond-producing regions across Africa and India. In collaboration with United People Global, the program has fostered entrepreneurship and job creation, promoting a sustainable economic cycle in these communities. This past year, DDG awarded a total of $100,000 in entrepreneurship grants, with awards ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 across 13 recipients.

Funds for these initiatives are generated through DDG’s annual DDG Awards and broader fundraising efforts. Through these grants, Diamonds Do Good aims to create lasting impact, advancing economic empowerment and educational opportunities in communities connected to the global diamond supply chain.
