Jewelers of America to present a Dynamic Education Conference at JA New York

The program will feature informational sessions on jewellery design, product diversification, marketing, security & social media.

Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewellery marketplace, will be presenting the Jewelers of America Education Program at the JA New York Winter Show from March 2 to 3, 2014, in New York City. The Education Program is free to JA New York Show attendees and will feature informational sessions led by industry experts in the fields of jewellery design, product diversification, platinum bridal jewellery, marketing, security and social media.

“At Jewelers of America, we believe education is empowering,” said JA's director of public affairs and education, Susan Thea Posnock. “We are proud to once again produce a high-quality education program that provides valuable information to help jewellery professionals evolve and expand their businesses and succeed in their careers.”

The education sessions include:

• Store Security: How to Spot a Jewellery Criminal and What a Jeweler Should Do – presented by Scott Guginsky of Jewelers’ Security Alliance.

• Thriving in the Internet Age: A Panel Discussion – moderated by Michelle Graff of National Jeweler.

• Turning on the Platinum Profit Machine for Your Bridal Business – presented by Kevin Reilly of Platinum Guild International.

• Capitalizing on Custom – presented by Peggy Jo Donahue of MJSA.

• Social Media: Why it Pays to be Likeable – presented by Dave Kerpen of Likeable Jewelers.

• Diversify Your Supply Chain for Success – presented by Matthew Tratner of Jewelers of America.

• Marketing by Design: Bring in New Designers to Differentiate Your Store Brand – presented by Cindy Edelstein of Jeweler’s Resource Bureau.
