First India-Russia Gemstones Buyer Seller Meet to be held in Jaipur

The platform will help build business opportunities in the growing Russian Gem and jewellery market

A Colored Gemstones & Studded Jewellery Buyer Seller Meet (BSM) between India and Russia is being organized for the first time, hosted by the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) in Jaipur India. The event is slated between 8th – 11th of December 2013 and is conceived as a platform to build business opportunities for Indian Manufacturers and Russian traders in the gemstones category. This will be GJEPC’s first endeavor to promote gemstone trade within the two countries in Jaipur, the hub of colored gemstones in India.

Speaking about the event, Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC noted that the Indio-Russian trade has been growing with India exporting US$ 10 million worth of gem and jewellery to Russia in 2012. Citing Russia as one of the key emerging destinations for gem and jewellery and the Indian Industry’s endeavours to forge partnerships and penetrate in the region, he mentioned, “The first India-Russia Gemstones BSM will provide a unique opportunity for manufacturers and traders to network as well as book orders for the coming year.”

Over 15 select colored gemstones and jewellery manufacturers from India and retailers from Russia will participate. Discussions, presentations, one-to-one meetings with traders and factory visits in Jaipur are planned for the two days.

The GJEPC along with its Russian Counterpart, Moscow Diamond Bourse (MDB) will be organising the meet. Mr. Alex Popov, President, MDB said “India with its enormous potential to supply best quality gemstones can cater to the rising demand in the Russian markets. Along with GJEPC we have successfully conducted two fruitful Buyer- Seller Meets & this time too we hope to repeat the Success Story.”

Leading Indian exporters and manufacturers from Jaipur are expected to participate in the Summit, and also importers, large retail chains and wholesalers from Russia, thus boosting trade opportunities and building networks within Russia. The list of Indian participants includes - Bhansali Trading Corporation, Friends International, Gem India Exports, Gem Plaza Jewellery Manufacturing, Gemco Designs, Heeralal Chhaganlal Tank, Kala Gems Exports, Kays Jewels, Kinu Baba Gems India, Kotawala Jewels, RMC Gems India Ltd, Sambhav Gems Ltd, Sheru Gems, United Gems, Vinayak Jewels.
