Diamond theft reported at BaselWorld 2011

On the eve of the closing of BaselWorld 2011, four diamonds worth $10 million were stolen from an exhibiting showcase on March 30, reports state. The showcase was part of the exhibits of a jeweller in Hall No.3 at the event.

The robbery occurred at around 11am. Upon it being discovered the hall was closed, and no one could exit for 30 minutes. The thieves have not been identified or caught so far, but an investigation is underway. BaselWorld closes on March 31.
