A road show was recently organised by UBM India and The Madras Jewellery & Diamond Merchants’ Association (MJDMA) as a prelude to The Gem & Jewellery India International Exhibition 2010 (GJIIE), which they are organising. The GJIIE 2010 is a B2B show for the gem and jewellery industry, promoting the industry of South India.
Over 150 Mumbai industry professionals attended the road show which was a platform for networking and knowledge sharing with talks delivered by eminent speakers. The speakers at the show included Mr. Babu Emmanuel - President, MJDMA, Mr. Yogesh Shah - Chairman, GJIIE, Mr. Rajesh Vummidi, Vice Chairman, GJIIE and Mr. Mahavir Lodha - General Secretary, Mumbai Gold Jewellers Wholesale Association. Also present on the occasion was Ms. Kranti Nagvekar - Regional Director, UBM India Pvt. Ltd, who gave an overview of the event.
Mr. Emmanuel invited the local Gems and Jewellery Industry to GJIIE 2010, for a first hand experience of the vibrant South India Gems & Jewellery market, and shared his views on the four southern Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh being the major consumers of gold and jewellery. he also unveiled UBM India Gems and Jewellery E-newsletter aimed at informing and educating the Indian gems and jewellery Industry.
Mr. Lodha shared his experiences regarding excellent service and facilities offered by the organisers of GJIIE. The organisers of the GJIIE 2010 are focusing on inviting trade visitors from Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities of South India, with extensive canvassing and a dedicated team for visitor promotion.
Ms. Kranti Nagvekar noted a good industry response for the GJIIE, with around 80 percent of the exhibition space already sold out. She added that the Mumbai road show will be shortly followed by more road shows across India.
