WJA and GIA to host lecture for gemstones

Robert Weldon, manager of GIA Photography and Visual Communications will be the guest speaker at a lecture entitled , “A Photo Safari of Gemstones of the World”, which is being hosted by the Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) of San Diego and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Alumni Association. The lecture is scheduled to be held on January 22, 2009 at Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California.

The event will be a knowledge sharing platform on the kind of gems which would be popular at the upcoming Tucson trade shows in February. Also, the speaker will take the audience through some of his experiences at various gemstone hubs of the world, like Myanmar (Burma), East Africa, India, Thailand, Russia, Sri Lanka and South America. He holds more than 17 years as experience exploring gemstones. The lecture invites all those keen to learn on gemstones - WJA members, non-members, guests, GIA alumni and students.
