For the forthcoming 43rd Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair, its promoters the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) has announced incentives to support its members in attracting more buyers to the fair. The event is slated between February 25th - March 1, 2009.

The TGJTA has agreed to bear half the expense of hotel accommodation for the buyers of its members. This waiver is valid for the dates between February 24 and March 2. Each TGTJA member is allowed to include two buyers in this promotion and the buyers participating in this promotion are required to reserve their rooms in one of the hotels listed on the BGJF website and agree to the room rates published there.

"In two months from now visitors will find more than 1,300 exhibitors who are eager to cement new business partnerships and agreements. There is a mood of optimism as industry players feel they are able to offer their buyers unique opportunities in an industry that is currently operating in a consumer market that is under pressure, " said Somchai Phornchindarak, BGJF CEO.

The BGJF has set the maximum room rate amount to be reimbursed to buyers at 3,000 baht ($85) per day. The offer is valid until January 20. Mr. Phornchindarak noted that in times of crisis, opportunity is just around the corner.
