Exhibitors of the 42nd edition of the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair (BGJF), have been provided with a new exhibition gallery - A Design Pavilion, to display their expertise in jewellery design innovation. The Pavilion would also leverage the profile of BGJF, as a platform encouraging talented Thai and international designers to display their flair and creativity in making object d' arts.

"The introduction of Design Pavilion amplifies our objective to turn BGJF as a stage to witness creativity and new ideas of talented designers in order to create more value to visitors and exhibitors to the fair," said BGJF chief executive Somchai Phornchindarak. At the Design Pavilion, exhibits of the latest and unique collections of finest, and prized jewellery which have already been presented through the traditional show sections known as TGJ Elite Creations and Hot New Design as well as a special exhibition by the Thai Silver Exporter Club, will be showcased. The Pavilion will be located at BGJF's main foyer, with two sections of exhibits – one being the International Thai Jewelry Awards, which honours 15 celebrated Thai designers with their winning master pieces from international competitions. The other part is devoted to an international presentation entitled GEM VISIONS 2009 by ENLIGHTENEDTM – Swarovski Elements, a world-leading product brand for precision-cut genuine gemstones and created stones.

The Hot New Design show will feature over 100 entries, while the list of precious jewellery pieces made by Thai manufacturers and destined for the Elite Creations is promised to be extensive. The event is scheduled to be held at Bangkok's world-class exhibition centre Challenger between September 11 and 15, 2008.
