diamond world news service

The online way for business or to acquire knowledge is getting a new boost by the global diamond industry. The latest on the web is an encyclopedia of diamond and diamond trading related knowledge posted by the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI) on their portal Israeli Diamond Industry Portal site. The portal has added its own version, Wikidiamond, dealing exclusively with diamond and jewellery terms. The interactive lexicon has already posted a number of entries, and invites readers to propose additional terms and create content.

There are additional tools like the currency converter and an interactive index of polished diamond prices, based on data supplied daily by the Polished Prices website. The news section has added a new feature of financial news from Israel and around the world and feature articles of varied aspects of the diamond and diamond jewellery profession - the Internet, the economy, new markets, technologies and more, supported with monthly video interviews of industry personalities.

Under development is a new section which will deliver information about diamond trading countries worldwide (such as main cities, embassies, currency, weather, banks, courier companies, Jewish life and more.) In addition, the Diamond Needs Board feature is being upgraded to make it even more user-friendly.

The IDI portal is uplifting its image of being the only such site of any diamond center in English, Hebrew and Chinese. It presently delivers industry news, in-depth articles, interviews, B2B marketplace.
