Join renowned Indian historian Dr Usha R Balakrishnan, on Friday March 11 at 14.00 GMT as she traces the early history and journey of a gem, which originated in a massive rough that weighed 450 carats and ranked among the largest diamonds in the world at the time of its discovery.

Golconda - the very name conjures up visions of a diamond displaying superior colour, transparency, liquid beauty and luminosity. Originally named Bala Kohinoor or Little Kohinoor, the gem, later named The Nizam, once reposed in the treasury of the Nizams of Hyderabad. The diamond now weighs an impressive 120.8 carats. Delving into literature and archives, her talk will piece together the history of this flawless irregular pear-shaped gem.

Organised by The World Diamond Museum the webinar is the second in a series by authors of ‘Diamonds Across Time.’ Here is a personal invitation from Dr Balakrishnan. Register here: https://bit.ly/FOMWebinar.
