The Tiffany & Co. Foundation today announced a one-million-dollar commitment to COVID-19 related causes. The Foundation is urgently allocating $750,000 to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization, powered by the UN Foundation and $250,000 to The New York Community Trust’s NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund. Tiffany & Co. is also proud to match employee donations to any qualified nonprofit organization supporting COVID-19 relief, dollar for dollar.

Since its inception in 1837, Tiffany & Co. has been guided by the belief that a successful company has a responsibility to the greater community. Today, more than ever, there is a need for communities to come together. This commitment allows us to respond to the urgent needs on a global scale, while also supporting our hometown of New York City.

“During this global health crisis, we must all be responsive to the urgent needs of our global communities. We are proud to support organizations providing immediate relief for communities impacted by COVID-19, including our hometown of New York,” said Anisa Kamadoli Costa, Chairman & President, The Tiffany & Co. Foundation.

The COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (WHO) prioritizes the greatest needs around the world to help ensure all countries are prepared, especially those with the weakest health systems. The fund directly supports global efforts to help countries prevent, detect and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Support will help send essential supplies to frontline health workers, enable countries to track and detect the disease, ensure access to the latest science-based information to prevent infection and care for those in need, and accelerate the discovery and development of lifesaving vaccines, diagnostics and treatment.

The NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund aids nonprofit social service and arts and culture organizations struggling with the health and economic effects of the coronavirus. Grants and loans are given to NYC-based nonprofits that are working to meet the new and urgent needs that are hitting the city as a result of the COVID-19 virus. Funds are being urgently distributed to organizations in areas of the city where the need is greatest, ensuring a breadth of coverage across all five boroughs. Priority will be given to nonprofits addressing essential healthcare and food insecurity, while supporting a broad range of social services organizations as well as arts and culture organizations, which are crucial to the fabric of the city.

In addition, The Tiffany & Co. Foundation has signed onto Philanthropy's Commitment During COVID-19 Pledge alongside over 500 other philanthropic organizations. The Pledge is a signal from foundations to grantees that we are ready to support them with the flexibility they need so they can respond quickly and confidently in these difficult times. Our goal is to signal to our grantees and the broader public that philanthropy stands side-by-side with the nonprofit sector at this moment.
