Thailand is the first country to host the biennial congress for the third time — 1987, 2005 and now in 2019. “As Bangkok is the world’s largest colored stone trading and processing hub, we have an immense opportunity to create great awareness about colored stones to a global audience,” said Prida Tiasuwan, Chairman, ICA Congress 2019.
A wide range of topics are on the agenda including rubies, gemstones, technology, mining, designs, young generation, market trends, media, social responsibility, and retailing, among others. Besides, exciting events such as tennis and golf tournament, a dinner cruise, and the Gala Ruby Night have been planned by the ICA Steering Committee.
ICA is a non-profit organization specifically created to cater to the global colored gemstone industry. Founded in 1984, ICA has over 700 members from 47 countries representing the entire gamut of colored gemstone segment from mine to market, including miners, gem-cutters, retailers, suppliers, laboratories, associations, museums and academia.
ICA’s network worldwide works for the adoption and promotion of consistent business benchmarks.
