Leading the sale is an important fancy colored diamond (pictured above, center, estimate: $1,500,000-2,000,000). Graded Fancy Orangy-Pink and weighing 12.62 carats, diamonds of this size and color are exceptional and rarely come up for auction.

 Diamonds and Gemstones

One of the top lots from the sale is an important sapphire ring (pictured above, left, estimate: $1,275,000-1,775,000), a 15.23 carat cushion-shaped sapphire of Kashmir origin with no indications of heat enhancement. This is a rare and an exceptional example from the now depleted Kashmir mines. Additional highlights include an impressive fancy deep yellow brown diamond pendant, weighing 24.23 carats (estimate $200,000-300,000); a fine oval-shaped brilliant-cut diamond, weighing 10.05 carats (estimate: $200,000-250,000); and a fine emerald and diamond ring of bombé design (estimate: $60,000-100,000).

Signed Jewels

Highlights of the signed jewels section of the sale include creations by world-renowned design houses such as Cartier, Harry Winston, Tiffany & Co., and Van Cleef & Arpels. The sale also includes a pair of ruby and diamond pendant earrings by Michele Della Valle (pictured right on page 1, estimate: $28,000-38,000) and two brooches from the French jewelry firm René Boivin - a lapis and diamond “Dauphin” brooch, 1948 (estimate: $12,000-18,000) and a diamond and ruby brooch, circa 1950 (pictured below, estimate: $12,000-18,000). The firm broke tradition by hiring a handful of talented female jewelry designers including Suzanne Belperron and Juliette Moutard. The ruby and diamond flower brooch was designed by Juliette Moutard who worked her entire career for Maison Boivin and was an important contributor to its success.
