Gem and jewellery SEZ approved at Dhulia

The Board of Approval (BOA) of the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) met recently to consider proposals for setting up of Special Economic Zones and also approve other miscellaneous requests pertaining to notified SEZs. In this meeting, 40 new applications were considered, according to the Press Information Bureau.

Of these, 22 formal approvals and six ‘in principle’ approvals were granted. One proposal for conversion of ‘in principle’ approval to formal approval was also granted.

Prominent among the formal approvals included the gems and jewellery SEZ by Shirpur Gold Refinery Limited at Dhulia, Maharashtra.
