JJS-IJ Jewellers Choice Design Awards, now in its 7th year, celebrates design talent from across India. IJ Awards (as it is popularly known as) provides an interesting platform for designers and manufacturers to catch the attention of the retailers for them to know about the latest trends, designs and designers.

Over the years, it has been an honour to have distinguished jury from fields of design, gems and jewellery, architecture, art, etc. Now that we have reached the final stage of this event, it’s time that we introduce our esteemed jury for this year. This year too, we have well-known names, who will be judging the entries.  The grand jury meet is slated to take place on 25th November 2017 at Sofitel, Mumbai.

The jury panel consists of experts from gems and jewellery, architecture, design sectors and beyond, ensuring that each piece of jewellery is viewed holistically.  The jury panel includes Nirupa Bhatt, MD, GIA India & Middle East, Rajiv Jain, CMD, Sambhav Gems and Secretary – Jaipur Jewellery Show, Anil Bharwani, Partner, Seth Sunderdas & Sons, Aftab Bandukwala Founder & Principal Architect, V-Design Architectural Solutions Pvt Ltd, Minal Vazirani President & Cofounder, Saffronart, Divya Dutta Film Actress & Model.

This year, we have received over 600 entries from across 22 cities in India. In all, 99 companies have participated in 13 broad categories. Winners will be awarded in a glittering gala ceremony on 23rd December 2017 in Jaipur.

This year, one of the main attractions is Mechanical jewellery category (themed jewellery). There’s no dearth for design talent in this country but it would be interesting to see how this talent is applied to creating wearable, gorgeous pieces of baubles.
