DTC’s ‘Diamond Season’ drives diamond jewellery sales

DTC's Diamond Season is the "Oscars" for the Indian Jewellery industry, recognised as the biggest Diamond Jewellery sales promotion activity in the country, the "Diamond Season Awards Night” in Mumbai truly concluded in style on Mon 5th Feb 07, at Grand Hyatt, The Grand, Ballroom.

All the prominent faces of Diamond Jewellery stores along with their sales consultants joined forces in a common program to create a “diamond fever” across cities to enable consumers have the widest choice in Diamond Jewellery at the most affordable prices.

The Diamond Season Awards nights have been a run away success in Mumbai & Ahmedabad, with the entire trade completely bowled over with DTC's commitment to the Indian market.

DTC invited TV celebrity couple, Tina and Hussein, winners of the popular live dance competition 'Nach Baliye 2', to visit participating showrooms across the country.
DTC had launched another generic promotion, ‘Gift-a-Diamond’, during the Indian festival season beginning Sept 2006, and this ran in tandem with the Diamond Season.

Addressing a 340 strong dazzling gathering at Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt on the Awards evening Deepak Bhatia, DTC Manager, Western India, said “These generic programs are helping create an even bigger consumer base for diamonds.”
“The entire city was decorated like a newly wed bride as one could smell the air of Diamond festivity all around” said Deepak Bhatia on Ahmedabad’s meteoric rise into developing as one of the most important centres for Diamond Jewellery Retail in India at the Ahmedabad Awards Night.
Speaking at the function, Prasad Kapre, Business Director, DTC, India, said that during this period the participating jewelers in the western region recorded a 32 percent increase in sales, with Mumbai registering the highest growth - 38 percent.

At the retail level, the participating outlets took on a festive look as each one tried to outdo their counterparts in a bid to win the various trade contests that were being held to give an impetus to sale of Diamond Jewellery this season.

Among those honored at the awards night in Mumbai were:
• TBZ – The Original, Notandas & Sons Jewellers and Ghanasingh Signature Jewellery
in the Best Showrooms for Diamond Season category;
• Popley Eternal as the Best Gift-a-Diamond Showroom;
• Popley La Classique for Best Window Display;
• Antara Jewellery for Best Initiative in Diamond Season;
• Mahesh Notandass for Best Shopping Experience;
• Rajkumar Jewellers for Best In-store Display.
The Best Sales Ambassadors were of Kundan Jewellers, TBZ Nirmal Zaveri and Anmol Jewellers. Similar awards were distributed to the winners in other participating cities
