KGK Group announced the opening of its high-tech diamond cutting and polishing factory in Vladivostok, launched by Honourable President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
“We have just discussed this a year ago of this co-operation with Narendra Modi. And it is upon his initiative that our co-operation in this area is developing dynamically, thanks to his decision to develop co-operation in diamond sector. We have almost increased twice the supplies of diamond raw materials to Indian facilities. Our company ALROSA is ready to broaden co-operation and deepen it even further, we will off course welcome all the efforts taken by you on this territory of Russian Federation. We will always support such initiatives. Good Luck! ” said Honourable President Mr. Vladimir Putin in his address.
The new KGK factory, a 1,555 sq. meter facility in Vladivostok, incorporates the latest and best diamond cutting and polishing infrastructure and will engage a staff complement of 400. KGK shall be investing RUB 2.8 billion in this unit. The installed manufacturing capacity is 150,000 carats of diamonds per year. This advancement is yet another manifestation of the natural progression of KGK’s global manufacturing operations already spread across India, South Africa, Russia, Botswana and Namibia.
The factory launch was followed by a lamp lighting ceremony and get-together at the KGK factory in Vladivostok. The event was honored by the presence of Primorsky Territory Vice-Governor Evgeny Polyansky; Sergey Ivanov, Alrosa President; Yuri K Okoyomov, Alrosa Vice President; Sr management team of VTB, Rosbank, PING An Bank, NGTC and ABN Amro along with Sr officials of Russian government. The event also witnessed the company of KGK’s business associates from Mainland China.

While being in Russia Navrattan Kothari, Patriarch, KGK attended the Meeting for Representatives of Foreign Business Circle during 3rd Eastern Economic Forum presided over by Honourable President Mr. Vladimir Putin, encouraging talks towards investments in various businesses in Russia.
In addition KGK signed multiple agreements in Russia. These include Cooperation agreement with Sergey Mikhaylovich Darkin, Governor of Vladivostok and other government agencies as well as Framework agreement with VTB Bank on financial cooperation with KGK Group.
Events held during 3rd Eastern Economic Forum held by FICCI led by Honorable Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs were also attended by KGK promoters. Sanjay Kothari participated as a panelist for the forum titled ‘Russia–India: Identifying New Opportunities’ while Sandeep Kothari was a panelist for the seminar ‘Vladivostok – City of Diamonds: The start of Gem cutting.’
