The Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) is eyeing the Chinese market for its potential in diamond trading and has drawn out a strategic campaign to enter it. IDI Managing Director Mr. Eli Avidar believes that China reflects the future of The Israeli Diamond Industry that has led them to launch the first Chinese language portal website of any diamond center in the world.

The Israel Diamond Industry Portal in Chinese, would be a B2B platform for diamond trading, designed specifically to for the Chinese market. One can search for Israeli diamond companies by type of goods. A Diamond Needs Board with a real-time alert, gives updates on the Israeli and world news, while also informing ways to conduct business with Israel.

IDI is also enthusiastic about participating in five trade shows in China including two in Hong Kong and one each in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Macau. It would have pavilions of up to 40 companies under one roof of The Israeli Diamond Industry.

The organisation will also indulge in PR and media activities to add impetus to this initiative. This first initiative would be seen at the Israeli Embassy in Beijing, where the campaign will be formally launched by the official delegation of The Israeli Diamond Industry representatives to China. It would also be carried into events held Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, for an entire week. The campaign is the result of a six month long planning, and IDI Chairman Mr. Moti Ganz affirmed that The Israeli Diamond Industry believes the market has a lot of potential.
