Gem & Jewellery industry comes together for a cause

The blood donation camp was organised by trustee of the ‘Mehak Diya Memorial Charitable Trust’, Shri Badri Narayanan Gupta on the death anniversary of his granddaughters (Diya and Mehak) who lost their life in the serial bomb blasts that occurred in Jaipur on May 13, 2008.

‘Mehak Diya Memorial Charitable Trust’ had organised a blood donation drive from May 10-13, 2015 at different locations across Jaipur.

The entire gem and jewellery industry enthusiastically participated in the blood donation drive. Workers from different gem and jewellery units in the Sitapura Industrial Area, Japiur, students and faculty of IIGJ Jaipur and many others participated in the drive.

The blood donation drive is an annual endeavour conceived by the trustee of the ‘Mehak Diya Memorial Charitable Trust’, Shri Badri Narayanan Gupta on the death anniversary of his granddaughters (Diya and Mehak) who lost their life at a very tender age of 3 and 5 years in the serial bomb blasts that occurred in Jaipur on May 13, 2008. The drive is being held every year on May 13th.

This year, the trust managed to collect a total of 1088 units of blood, which was 80 units more than in 2014. The camp was held on the premises of Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital. Also, mobile collection Vans of Sawai Man Singh Hospital and Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital assisted in the drive.
