Diamond World conducted a comprehensive survey to gauge the opinion of the exhibitors at IIJS 2007. The survey overall places IIJS on top.
The survey shows that over 80% of the respondents were happy with the show; they did business and got ample networking opportunities. Only 10.71% of respondents say that the show is average.
Well, not too many people seem to be happy with the turnout of international visitors. Apart from around 40% respondents rest were not too satisfied with the international footfall.
A whooping figure of 75% was content with the domestic turnout while 18% thought that footfall was less but quality crowd, which implies that maximum people appreciate the domestic footfall in quantity and quality as well.
August is seen as better season for the show overall, nearly 60% of respondents favour it, 15% of them feel that August is better choice in order to avoid damage caused by rains otherwise May is better in terms of business activity and nearly 15% of them feel that any time is good if the show is organised well.
Although nearly 46% of the respondents were happy with the facilities of the show, nearly 33% of respondents say that there is still lot of scope of improvement in order to move ahead on the ladder of top shows of the world. The exhibitors suggest some of the major areas of improvements.
1. Uneven flooring areas
2. Congested food areas
3. Lack of apt parking space and conveyance availability
4. Unorganised audio system
5. Poor mobile network interrupts work flow of the exhibitors
6. Unhygienic toilets
7. Shelters from main gates to the halls
8. Navigation and unplanned aisles
Nearly 85% of the respondents were happy with the security and freight services. Similarly, 67% were happy with food services but were disappointed with the smaller area allotted to the cafeteria, since it is always over crowded at lunchtime.
Nearly 54% of the respondents feel that visitor registration is proper for security reasons, whereas around 40% feel that the cost is high.
When talked about the value of the cost incurred at IIJS for exhibitors, 53.57% of the respondents felt that the cost incurred was justified if they can get ample foreign buyers while over 18% felt that it could not be any better. 11% thought that IIJS is an internationally acclaimed show still much lower in cost than other shows worldwide and lastly 8% indicated that the costs should be lower such that small and medium size players get a display platform.
