Apart from its physical brilliant characteristics, the Swana Diamond has also been associated with social causes. To promote sustainability and social awareness, the Swana Diamond Collection is associated with a Give Back to Africa Campaign wherein each sale of a Swana Diamond translates into a donation for children of the Tlokweng SOS Children’s Village in Gaborone. Produced by one of the leading diamond manufacturers in Botswana, Swana is also proud to be the first diamond company to receive the approval of Botswana’s Diamond Hub to use the stamp “Cut and Polished in Botswana”. In fact, the company was the originator of the locally cut and polished project, as well as being the launch supplier. Swana is keen to promote this fact and the logo of the “Polished in Botswana” stamp has been added to its marketing material as well as to the IGI certificate that accompany the stones.
The Swana Diamond and its local retail partners have experienced success in the Chinese market with successful debut in Guandong and Zhejiang provinces in 2009. This was followed with continued penetration into other Chinese territories.
