The CEO of American Gem Trade Association (AGTA,) Douglas Hucker,who had served the organisation for ten years, has give his resignation.

But as per industry news, he plans to work for the AGTA in an advisory capacity for the upcoming six months.

AGTA president Rick Krementz observed that AGTA's has benefited a lot by Doug's service in many capacities. Krementz added that he will continue to be part of their family and their community."

Hucker will be honored with the AGTA Lifetime Membership Award at the 2008 AGTA GemFair Tucson Dinner Dance and Awards Gala.

Ed Griffin, AGTA chief operating officer, will be the primary contact person for AGTA until a new CEO is announced.
